In this “New Normal” we are all navigating a brave new world of telecommuting; unless of course you already had an online business and if so then congratulations you are leaps and bounds ahead of us and you can stop reading now…
For those of you that did not come from a work environment where telecommuting was the norm, not only are you now working from home and maybe managing a team but you are also trying to do it while working in the same space as your spouse and/or children. So where do you start if you are not accustomed to working remotely?
Of course everyone is scared and nervous during these crazy times but it’s made even more difficult while trying to do it ALL at home and KEEP your job or company afloat. It’s okay if some days you feel like you want to hide under the covers but you have to keep going because at some point this too shall pass and when it does you will need to rise from the ashes bigger and better than ever. Are you going to decide to be a War Time General or a Peace Time General?
With people losing their jobs and going out of business, businesses have started to get creative and are attempting to take their businesses online. Telecommuting has become the key to keeping your career or business going. Ask yourself how can you make your business virtual.

Give yourself set hours when working from home. REST!
Set a schedule and stick to it so that you don’t fall into the abyss of working too much. YES!!! I said it, working too much. Studies have shown that employees are actually more productive and work more when they are working from home. Don’t fall into the trap of working late into the night and compromising time with your family and loved ones.
